I am currently open for review requests.
When I started my blog back in March of 2023 it was mostly just a way to keep track of the books I read reading without much thought to it. I’ve slowly gotten better at writing reviews but they’re still pretty short. That said the fact that I’ve have managed to continue it for two years counts for something. And I have reviewed a couple books on NetGally, one at the request of the publisher for the book. I plan to look for more books to review on NetGally and I look forward to requests for reviews.
The primary genre of books read and reviewed are science fiction and fantasy, however, others, such as historical fiction, mystery, and other works of fiction and non-fiction are also accepted for review on individual basis. I will accept requests for horror and/or thriller as long as they’re not too graphic. No requests will be accepted for romance, erotica, religious fiction, self help, or poetry. All books must be made available in ebook format.
I tend to review based on how I felt about the book & the characters in general. Often I will talk about the world building and other plot elements if I found them interesting. I try to avoid writing really negative reviews but sometimes a plot point hits the wrong way and I talk about that further. Usually that plot point is related to disability and how it’s used as I tend to have a lot of opinions about disability representation. When I review a book I always try to find something positive to say even when I don’t like something in a book. I have occasionally stopped reading books I found intolerable but will never add it to my website or talk about it publicly.
All reviews are posted here on my blog and my StoryGraph account. I also crosspost with in links to my BlueSky and Mastodon accounts.
If reviewing a book from NetGally I will post there and I am happy to post on Amazon if requested.
All requests for reviews should be made to “requests ( @ ) stardustrohrig (.) com”.
When making your request please include the genre of your book and a brief description of what it is about. Please also include any warnings where applicable so I know what to expect.
